CME Employees Not Getting Paid – Update

By way of The Escapist , I noticed an article over at Gamasutra – a major news site dedicated to the game industry, and sister publication to the Game Developers Magazine – providing a bit more information on the Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment situation. A website recently popped up, stating that their employees had not been paid for quite a bit of time – complete with a steadily growing number of days. This particular article states CME’s response to the situation, stating that this information is accurate and that they are currently having a cash flow problem, but would not harm the development of the game.

Really? Well, I’m pretty sure a bunch of unpaid employees sure isn’t going to help the situation when they’re the ones working on the game. I’m also pretty sure that this is going to seriously sting when it comes to marketing and public image as well.

Once again, best of luck to the CME employees – this is certainly a pretty bad time of the year to be running into the problem, but I suppose it also goes to show that the economic crisis is certainly hitting just about everyone. Hopefully the company will find the resources they need to continue on.
