These were taken with the camera that I bought there closer to the end of my stay, so the images don’t represent everywhere I’ve been, or everything that I’ve done by any stretch – and I don’t think I could have ever hoped to capture that to begin with! – but they do show an awful lot of some pretty great areas, and also some great people that I knew while over there.

While I uploaded these to Flickr, I haven’t paid for a pro membership yet, so… Here are links to the relevant Facebook albums:

… I need to start taking more pictures again.

Oh, right, I graduated recently. That’s probably big-ish news that I should mention. I even had to update my About Me page!

I ended up leaving Michigan Technological University with a degree in Scientific and Technical Communications, a concentration in Public Relations, and a certification in Media. I also got out with honor cords too, which was certainly nice.

I would like to thank the faculty in the Humanities Department at Michigan Tech, as well as my fellow students. You all certainly did a lot to help shape me as a professional and as a person. It was a fantastic experience and I hope to do a lot of good because of it. I certainly feel confident heading out into the world, knowing that so many amazing people helped me grow into the person I am today.

All I need now is a job!

I guess those crazy Internet and laptop things are taking off, huh?

I’m actually really quite interested to see how things will go as netbooks and other similar devices become more popular. I’ve seen a few eeePCs around already and a number of iPhones.

Overall, the event went very well. A lot of work was done, a number of games were completed, and a lot of fun was had. Regretfully, we lost internet halfway through, which halted my live blogging for the most part. However, regardless of that, everything else went off without a hitch. In fact, you can see the completed games here.

Saturday the 7th marks the first Houghton Game Jam. This will be a crazy 24-hour-straight peroid of game development as people try to individually create a game based around the concept of ’space’ – which doesn’t necessarily mean outer space, but is instead open to interpretation.

I will be live-blogging this event every hour, and potentially making a game of my own to include into the little competition.

More information on this topic will follow.
